About 13 years ago we moved to our current house. The neighbors across the street were warm and friendly. They were older than us. All their kids were grown. They were up early every morning and when they went to the paper box to get their newspaper they would get ours and put it on our front porch. We had never experienced anything like this. We began to make an effort to get up earlier and try to beat them to the box. These days due to some health issues we deliver the paper to them most of the time. They are the nicest neighbors and we are grateful they introduced us to this sweet tradition.
